Episode Recap: “Last Call” – Spoilers Ahead!
A Mysterious Incident
Rumors surrounding Molly Hopkins and Kelly Brown’s involvement in 90 Day: The Last Resort have captured audience attention. The speculation started after an incident where Molly and her daughter, Olivia, filed a police report against Kelly for an alleged violent encounter that occurred before filming began. Despite the fact that the show has aired five episodes, this controversial altercation has not been addressed.
Unveiling the Allegations
For those unfamiliar with the incident, Molly accused Kelly of choke-slamming Olivia during a confrontation that took place at Molly’s place of business after hours. Both Kelly and Molly’s ex-best friend, Cynthia Decker, who was referenced as a witness in the police report, denied the allegations. Surprisingly, the case was eventually closed by the police without pressing any charges, leaving us with unanswered questions about what truly transpired.
A Missing Piece of the Puzzle
When 90 Day: The Last Resort began filming, viewers, including myself, expected the scandalous event of Kelly allegedly assaulting Olivia to be a central topic of the show. However, the show has only explored Molly’s dissatisfaction with Kelly’s lack of ambition and their lackluster sex life. There is no evidence suggesting any underlying relationship issues or mention of the assault. It’s puzzling why Molly and Kelly would agree to participate in the show without addressing such a significant factor in their breakup. It’s equally surprising that they would engage in couples’ games and maintain cordiality, especially with the potential threat of legal drama looming.
Motivations Behind the Silence
Although it may be perplexing how this couple could seemingly ignore the alleged incident, it is not entirely implausible to understand their perspective. Ultimately, all participants in the spinoff likely receive compensation and enjoy a free vacation, despite the filming sessions technically being considered work. It would be difficult to turn down such an offer, even for individuals who had no intention of rekindling their broken relationship.
Unanswered Questions
While there is a possibility that 90 Day: The Last Resort may still touch upon the alleged incident in future episodes, it appears increasingly unlikely at this stage. We eagerly await the conclusion of this spinoff to see if any clues emerge about Molly’s reasons for filing the police report and where Molly and Kelly’s relationship stands.
