Syrian President’s wife Asma al-Assad confirmed that early detection of hearing loss in newborns is possible and affordable, and treatment results are highly effective with timely intervention.

Al-Assad pointed out during the First Lady’s speech today at the launch of the National Program for Early Identification and Early Intervention for Hearing Impaired Newborns that this shared responsibility lies with everyone and this is the spirit of the National Program for Early Identification and Early Intervention for Newborns with Hearing Impairment .

She said: “To the extent that a child is characterized by severe vulnerability and the speed of damage, it is the same as the speed of renewal and recovery is characteristic of him, and the most curable diseases for him are the very diseases that impede his health, which, of course, are diseases associated with the senses, since they form the basis of the cognitive and communicative development of children, and at the head of these feelings is the importance of the sense of hearing.

She noted that early detection of this disease is possible and affordable, and the results of treatment are highly effective if appropriate intervention is carried out in a timely manner.

She added: “Because the national program represents an important step forward in the field of health, it is also a living embodiment of the public health policy that Syria has begun to implement at an accelerated pace.”

And she continued: “Although the problems at the national level are large and numerous, they have not been and will not be an excuse for not moving forward, producing and achieving at different levels and in different areas. The illness of a sector or part of an industry does not mean a lack of progress in others industries, just as a disease needs appropriate and timely treatment.” time and hard work.
