Today, on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia announced the start of organizing the evacuation of citizens of Saudi Arabia and a number of citizens of fraternal and friendly countries from Sudan to the Kingdom.
A Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement released by SPA said the measures were taken in pursuance of follow-up and care instructions from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. for citizens of the Kingdom in Sudan.
The situation in Sudan worsened after the end of Ramadan, and a Saudi Arabian Airbus plane was involved in an accident at Khartoum International Airport. All Saudi Arabian Airlines flights to and from Sudan are suspended until further notice.
It comes at a time when Sudan is witnessing clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces in the capital, Khartoum, and elsewhere in the country.
Saudi Arabia called on all parties in Sudan to prioritize the language of dialogue, restraint and rallying ranks in a way that would help complete the consensus reached, including a framework agreement aimed at reaching a political declaration whereby Sudan’s political stability, economic recovery and prosperity will be achieved.
