The Egyptian Oil Sector Launches New Digital Portal to Attract Investors
Introduction
The Egyptian oil sector has launched a new digital portal called Egypt Exploration and Production Portal to attract investors to oil and gas exploration in Egypt.
Geological Data and Investments
The portal aims to provide all the geological data required by current and potential investors, promote applications and attract investments in the field of oil and gas exploration in Egypt.
In the same context, work is currently underway to encourage investment in the mining industry through the ongoing work to launch a digital platform for mining and minerals in Egypt, similar to the Egyptian Exploration and Production Portal. The portal will contain all the geological data and maps required by investors. It will facilitate the presentation of investment opportunities in the field of minerals in Egypt, as well as promote auctions and attract investment.
Technology Integration and Management Systems
The oil sector is also working on the application of management systems, taking advantage of modern technologies to connect all companies and objects of the sector. This includes creating an ERP resource planning and management system that collects and analyzes data and develops information systems in various companies in the sector. It also considers integration with industrial control systems for various activities of the oil and gas industry, which helps in the development and improvement of procedures and electronic exchange of data and information. This aims to improve operational efficiency and support decision making. The ERP system has already been implemented in the Oil Department and all holding companies, as well as their subsidiaries.
The implementation of a system project for the planning and development of oil refining and marketing companies affiliated with the authority has also been completed. Implementation has begun in the distribution companies affiliated with the authority, in addition to starting the implementation of the crude oil control and monitoring project for oil and oil products. This includes establishing a main control center “SCADA” for pipelines, which aims to control and monitor the circulation and transportation of crude oil and oil products. Furthermore, the project of a unified geographic information systems (GIS) platform has been completed.
