Egypt to Build Giant Strategic Warehouses for Latest Technology

Egyptian Supply Minister Ali al-Moselhi announced Egypt’s plan to build giant strategic warehouses for the latest technology.

Managing Storage Operations and Ensuring Food Supply

He explained during the opening of the new phase of the nation’s largest strategic food warehouse project, and the groundbreaking for the second strategic warehouse in Luxor province in the first phase, following the groundbreaking for the first store in Suez over two months ago, that the purpose of establishing these warehouses is to manage the storage operations of goods, ensure the safety and quality of products, and ensure a strategic supply of food throughout the year.

Doubling Inventory and Reducing Losses

In his statements, he added that the purpose of establishing these strategic warehouses is to double the inventory of finished products and finished products at the provincial level, and to reduce losses and waste of finished products, and reduce trading circles, and to take into account distribution and geographical diversity. These warehouses aim to improve the efficiency of inventory and ensure the preservation of its quality and safety. Additionally, they will monitor inventory through electronic communication of all strategic warehouses, which contributes to the possibility of future planning, “spatial and temporal,” for the reliable storage of goods.

Construction of Giant Warehouses in 7 Provinces

Since 2020, Egypt has been working on the construction of 7 giant warehouses in 7 different provinces on the orders of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to provide the Egyptians with large volumes of goods.

National Project for Increasing Strategic Stocks

Egypt’s Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade said it was “in full swing consulting on the implementation of a national project to set up giant strategic warehouses to increase the strategic stocks of basic commodities in seven provinces.”
