Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat announced his agreement with Chairman of the Board of Directors of Samsung Electronics - Egypt John Su Yung to establish a Samsung factory in Egypt.
According to a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Communications, today Friday, the new plant provides about 1,400 direct and indirect jobs for Egyptian workers, especially in Upper Egypt, as it will be located in Beni Suef province on an area of 6,000 square meters.
It is planned that the construction of the plant will begin in the last quarter of this year. Thanks to him, modern versions of Samsung mobile devices will be produced by Egyptian hands and using international technologies, in addition to transferring technology and technical knowledge to the Egyptian market, which, in turn, confirms the localization of the mobile industry in the Egyptian market.
For his part, the Egyptian Minister of Communications said that the opening of Samsung’s new factory in Beni Suef is a continuation of the successful cooperation process with Samsung International, which resulted in the production of educational tablets in Egypt.
Mobility Egypt announced the production of the first Samsung International handset with the label “Made in Egypt” after lengthy negotiations, which resulted in the opening of the company’s plant in the province of Beni Suef.
The launch of the company’s first mobile phone made in Egypt is an important investment initiative that will attract more investors in the coming period, according to the Chamber of Commerce’s Mobile Department.
Samsung is not considered the first in Egypt to release an Egyptian version of its mobile phones, as the mobile giant Nokia has announced the imminent release of the first of its phones made in Egypt, working to expand the mobile industry in the Egyptian market. the volume of purchases of which reaches up to 18 million phones annually.
