Nazih Al-Najari, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Russian Federation, said that the African peace initiative regarding the Ukrainian crisis is still under discussion.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Russia-Islamic World: Kazan Forum International Economic Forum, the ambassador added: “South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said earlier that he spoke on behalf of African countries to Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as to Vladimir Zelensky, when he presented them with a peaceful initiative on behalf of Zambia, Senegal, Congo, Uganda, Egypt and South Africa.
According to him, Putin and Zelensky agreed to host the mission of African heads of state in Moscow and Kyiv. As Ramaphosa noted, the UN Secretary General and the office of the African Union have been informed about this initiative.
