A political source in Ankara said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan hopes to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin before the start of the week of the UN General Assembly on September 19.
The source told the TASS news agency: “Erdogan and Putin will meet before the opening of the General Assembly. Not after it. The deadline is still being discussed, but it will happen before the UN General Assembly.”
He added that both sides intend to “discuss the prospects for a peaceful solution” to the Ukrainian conflict.
