Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the days are “not far off” when his country will have enough oil to meet its needs.

Erdogan’s remarks came in a speech as he participated via video link in the opening ceremony of the July 15 Martyrs’ Bridge in Adana, southern Turkey.

He added: “We have our own natural gas and I hope we see the days when we get enough oil to meet our needs in the near future.”

He noted that the “July 15 Martyrs’ Bridge” in Adana: “will save our country 286 million lira annually (about $15 million) in time and fuel, and will also reduce carbon emissions by more than 4,000 tons.”

The President of Turkey also noted that successive governments of the Justice and Development Party have provided services to the Turkish people for 21 years by building schools, infrastructure, factories, cars, aircraft, ships, tanks, equipment and housing. .
