Public Service Electric and Gas Company, is building its largest community solar project on the closed L&D Landfill in Burlington County, NJ. When it goes into service later this year, the L&D Solar Farm will cover more than 50 acres with 41,720 solar panels that will generate enough electricity to power 2,000 New Jersey homes annually. “Safety is our No. 1 priority along our 98,000 miles of rights of way,” said Mike Williams, Consumers Energy’s director of corporate security. “We want our employees, neighbors and everyone near our property as safe as possible. This policy also addresses neighboring landowners who are concerned about trespassers entering from Consumers Energy’s property.”
Special provisions apply to Consumers Energy-owned lands encompassing 12,000 acres bordering its Au Sable, Manistee and Muskegon river hydroelectric facilities, where hunting is allowed.
