Not taking into account the $0.08 per diluted share impact of a $6.4 million pre-tax restructuring charge recorded during the first quarter of fiscal 2015, earnings per diluted share would have been $0.37. This compares with first quarter 2014 earnings per diluted share of $0.33, which excludes the $0.22

per diluted share impact of a $17.3 million pre-tax restructuring charge recorded during the 2014 period.

Kay Krill, President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, “ANN INC. delivered bottom-line results for the quarter that exceeded our expectations. We were able to achieve these results, despite softer-than-anticipated gross margin performance, through continued effective administration of expenses.

Ascena Retail Group, Inc., through its auxiliaries, operates as a specialty retailer of apparel for women, and tween girls and boys. It operates through five segments: Justice, Lane Bryant, maurices, dressbarn, and Catherines segments.

Finally, Rock-Tenn Company (NYSE:RKT), ended its last trade with 1.26% gain, and closed at $ 66.70.

Rock-Tenn Company, declared a date for special meetings of their respective shareholders or stockholders to approve the formerly declared combination of the two packaging companies. Subject to these approvals and certain regulatory approvals, the merger is presently predictable to close on July 1, 2015, at which point MWV and RockTenn will become auxiliaries of WestRock Company, which will trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol WRK.
