Friday’s Trade News Buzz on: Kroger Co (NYSE:KR), Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC), Sprint Corp (NYSE:S)

On Friday, Kroger Co (NYSE:KR)’s shares inclined 5.34% to $37.29.

The Kroger Co. (KR) stated net earnings of $433 million, or $0.44 per diluted share, and identical supermarket sales growth, without fuel, of 5.3% in the second quarter of fiscal 2015.

As a result of lower retail fuel prices, total sales raised 0.9% to $25.5 billion in the second quarter contrast to $25.3 billion for the same period last year. Total sales, not taking into account fuel, raised 5.7% in the second quarter over the same period last year.

Kroger recorded a $21 million LIFO charge during the second quarter contrast to a $26 million LIFO charge in the same quarter last year.

FIFO gross margin was 21.5% of sales for the second quarter. Not Taking Into Account retail fuel operations, FIFO gross margin reduced 7 basis points from the same period last year.

Total operating expenses – not taking into account retail fuel operations – reduced 35 basis points as a percent of sales contrast to the preceding year.

The Kroger Co., together with its auxiliaries, operates as a retailer in the United States and internationally. It also manufactures and processes food for sale in its supermarkets. The company operates retail food and drug stores, multi-department stores, jewelry stores, and convenience stores. Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC)’s shares gained 0.68% to $29.47.

Intel Corporation’s board of directors has declared a quarterly dividend of 24 cents per share (96 cents per share on an annual basis) on the company’s common stock. The dividend will be payable on December 1, 2015, to stockholders of record on November 7, 2015.

At the end of Friday’s trade, Sprint Corp (NYSE:S)‘s shares surged 1.24% to $4.88.

Sprint and Youth Guidance kick off the school year tonight by taking 100 Working on Womanhood members and staff to a Chicago Sky WNBA game and dinner.

For 90 years, Youth Guidance has served inner-city areas where the challenges of community violence and academic failure among youth are greatest.
