Virgin America Inc. (NASDAQ:VA)

On Tuesday, Virgin America Inc. (VA), San Francisco’s hometown airline, is assisting the City of San Francisco Animal Care & Control (SF ACC) by flying Chihuahuas in need from San Francisco to the New York area so they can be adopted quickly into loving homes. The overpopulation of Chihuahuas in California continues to force animal shelters on the West Coast to look to shelters on the East Coast for assist – where the dogs will quickly be adopted. As the only San Francisco-based airline, Virgin America first teamed up with the SF ACC to fly needy pups to new homes on the East Coast in 2010 to assist address the influx of dogs at shelters on the West Coast. The overpopulation issue has only escalated since the original 2010 airlift, and as part of its long-standing partnership with and commitment to SF ACC, Virgin America is undertaking its sixth such airlift flight.

Recently, the airline also launches a “Lucky Dog” fare sale with fares from $49* one way (taxes and fees comprised of, with restrictions applying) - with $10 from each ticket sold donated to the SF ACC. Tickets are on sale now at www.virginamerica.com and at 1.877.FLY.VIRGIN and must be purchased by 11:59 pm CT on March 19.

The airline continues to expand its network across the country with flights to Austin, Boston, Cancun, Chicago, Dallas Love Field, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Los Cabos, Newark, New York (JFK and LGA), Orlando, Palm Springs (seasonal), Portland, Puerto Vallarta, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington D.C. (IAD and DCA).

Virgin America Inc. provides planned air travel services. As of December 31, 2014, it offered services to 21 airports in the United States and Mexico with a fleet of about 53 Airbus single-aisle aircraft, counting of 10 Airbus A319s and 43 Airbus A320s.

Axcelis Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:ACLS)

The systems are planned to ship in the third quarter.

Axcelis Technologies, Inc. designs, manufactures, and services ion implantation and other processing equipment used in the fabrication of semiconductor chips worldwide.

Flamel Technologies SA (NASDAQ:FLML)

Flamel Technologies SA (FLML), will release financial results for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2014 on Thursday, March 19, 2015, before the market open. A conference call to talk about these results has been planned for Thursday, March 19th at 10:00 a.m. ET. A question and answer period will follow administration’s prepared remarks.

According to Bloomberg report, Prysmian (PRYMY) may make a bid to attain the cable products corporation. Prysmian is considering an attainment of its rival to raise its North American market share. On the other hand, General Cable was downgraded by analysts at BB&T Corp. to “hold” from a “buy” rating, citing the recent run-up in shares. Due to all the above mentioned reasons, the stock ended its day in red-zone.
