Momentum Stocks in Focus: QUALCOMM Incorporated (NASDAQ:QCOM), SandRidge Energy, Inc. (NYSE:SD), Echo Global Logistics, Inc. (NASDAQ:ECHO)

On Monday, Shares of QUALCOMM Incorporated (NASDAQ:QCOM), lost -4.04% to $55.28, hitting its lowest level.

QUALCOMM Incorporated declared that its indirect, wholly-owned partner, Qualcomm Global Trading Pte. Ltd, has accomplished its acquisition of CSR plc (CSR), a leading fabless provider of end-to-end semiconductor and software solutions for the Internet of Everything (IoE) and automotive segments. The acquisition, which was accomplished at an enterprise value of about $2.2 billion ($2.4 billion equity value)*, complements Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.’s (Qualcomm Technologies) current offerings by adding a compelling portfolio of new products, sales channels and a large number of customers in the areas of IoE and automotive – both key growth priorities for Qualcomm Technologies.

Cambridge Silicon Radio Limited is presently an indirect, wholly-owned partner of CSR that operates, together with its associates, substantially all of CSR’s engineering, research and development functions, together with substantially all of the CSR products and services businesses. Cambridge Silicon Radio Limited will be renamed Qualcomm Technologies International, Ltd., which will become a partner of Qualcomm Technologies.

QUALCOMM Incorporated designs, develops, manufactures, and markets digital communications products and services in China, South Korea, Taiwan, and the United States. The company operates through three segments: Qualcomm CDMA Technologies (QCT), Qualcomm Technology Licensing (QTL), and Qualcomm Planned Initiatives (QSI).

Shares of SandRidge Energy, Inc. (NYSE:SD), declined -9.09% to $0.4091, during its last trading session, hitting its lowest level, as the price of U.S. oil closed under $40 a barrel on Monday for the first time since the days of the global economic crisis on fears of a slowdown in the world economy, according to AP.

Brent crude, a benchmark for international oils used by many U.S. refineries, slipped $2.77 to $42.69 Monday and is at its lowest levels since March 2009. AP Reports

SandRidge Energy, Inc., an oil and natural gas company, explores for and produces oil and natural gas properties primarily in the Mid-Continent region of the United States. The company operates through three segments: Exploration and Production, Drilling and Oil Field Services, and Midstream Services.

Finally, Echo Global Logistics, Inc. (NASDAQ:ECHO), ended its last trade with -4.51% loss, and closed at $23.70.

Echo Global Logistics declared that Christopher N. Clemmensen has been named Senior Vice President of Marketing. A proven executive with nearly 25 years of experience at both emerging and Fortune 500 companies, Clemmensen comes to Echo with a history of profitable revenue growth, innovative marketing campaigns, and successful re-brandings. He will lead the marketing department with a focus on planned marketing, product administration, and lead-generation efforts at Echo.

Clemmensen has a proven record of accomplishment of success as a marketing executive. From 1999 to 2001, he served as VP of Marketing at YesMail, where he worked with current Echo President and Chief Operating Officer David Menzel. Clemmensen led marketing efforts throughout YesMail’s IPO and $520 million acquisition by CMGI in 2000. His preceding experience comprises brand administration roles at Kraft and S.C. Johnson & Sons.

As the top marketing executive at the Healthcare division of Thomson Reuters, Clemmensen oversaw the annual 100 Top Hospitals® report, growing sales 46 percent over three years. Leading up to the acquisition of Reuters in 2008, he led a 50-person global marketing team that integrated marketing across five businesses for Thomson worth $450 million. Post acquisition, Clemmensen worked on the company’s global rebranding as Thomson Reuters, an effort that spanned 300 offices in 93 countries.

Echo Global Logistics, Inc. provides technology-enabled transportation and supply chain administration solutions in the United States. It uses a proprietary technology platform to compile and analyze data from its multi-modal network of motor, rail, and airfreight transportation providers for the transportation and logistics needs.
