Pre-Market News Review: Ford Motor, (NYSE:F), EMC Corporation, (NYSE:EMC), Texas Instruments, (NASDAQ:TXN)

On Wednesday, Shares of Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:F), gained 1.01% to $15.03.

Ford Motor Company, is expanding its commitment to Northern California by launching a new philanthropic initiative with local dealers that will comprise $1 million of investments focused on middle school education, disaster relief and driving safety.

Ford will focus on improving opportunities for middle school student success in underserved populations, initially partnering with Boys and Girls Club chapters to reach as many as 6,000 middle school students in Northern California. Success in middle school often results in better graduation rates in high school.

Ford Motor Company Fund, the philanthropic arm of Ford Motor Company, will also bring its Ford Driving Dreams Tour to San Jose. This high school program, which has reached more than 30,000 students in Chicago, Indiana, Florida and Texas, assists Latino youth stay in school and pursue higher education. The program comprises scholarships and grants, high-energy student assemblies, and an essay contest that invites students to share their dream.

Shares of EMC Corporation (NYSE:EMC), inclined 1.09% to $27, during its last trading session.

Gladstone Commercial Corporation (GOOD) stated that it purchased a three-story, 86,409 square foot, single-tenant office building located in Draper, Utah, for $22.2 million at an average cap rate of 7.95%. The Class A property is leased to EMC Corporation (EMC) through December 2021. The property is located in the Lone Peak Center Office Park, a master-planned park in the southeast submarket of Salt Lake City, Utah and serves as one of EMC’s eight global Centers of Excellence.

EMC is a leading technology company that develops, delivers, and supports IT storage hardware and cloud computing software to customers around the world. EMC is rated A/A1 by S&P and Moody’s respectively.

“This acquisition marks our first acquisition in the Salt Lake City market and our fifth acquisition in the Western U.S., which continues our planned expansion into both primary and secondary markets in the Western U.S.,” said Andrew White, Managing Director of the Company. “The 6.5 years remaining on the lease to EMC should provide attractive stable returns to our investors over the long term given the attributes of the real estate and strong economic fundamentals driving the Salt Lake City real estate market.”

EMC Corporation develops, delivers, and supports information infrastructure and virtual infrastructure technologies, solutions, and services. It offers enterprise storage systems and software deployed in storage area networks (SAN), networked attached storage (NAS), unified storage combining NAS and SAN, object storage, and/or direct attached storage environments, in addition to provides a portfolio of backup products that support a range of enterprise application workloads.

Finally, Texas Instruments Inc. (NASDAQ:TXN), ended its last trade with 2.41% gain, and closed at $54.19.

On June 4, Texas Instruments declared the availability of its new informational advanced driver assistance systems (InfoADAS) software development kit (SDK). The new SDK delivers an automotive-ready InfoADAS framework for integrating ADAS algorithms into existing in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems. A growing industry trend, InfoADAS adds non-active safety information content such as surround view, pedestrian and lane detection and more to traditional IVI features to enhance the driving experience. TI’s InfoADAS SDK enables developers to:

  • Extend investments in infotainment with the addition of innovative InfoADAS use-cases to enhance the driver’s awareness of the conditions inside and outside the vehicle, without compromising the performance of either IVI or InfoADAS systems.
  • Reshape traditional infotainment architectures by integrating additional functions on TI’s DRA7xx “Jacinto 6″ infotainment processors.

Pricing and availability

The DRA7xx processors, intended for high-volume automotive manufacturers, are accessible for mass-production and not accessible through distributors. Access to InfoADAS SDK is through a TI representative.
