Hulu is challenging Netflix and Amazon by offering an ad-free streaming service for $12 a month.
Mike Hopkins, Hulu’s chief executive told The New York Times that he hopes to attract more customers by offering the new option.
“You can split people into two categories: ad avoiders and ad acceptors,” Hopkins told the newspaper. “There are clearly people who just are not going to buy Hulu because there are ads. We think we can bring them back into the fold with new content and this new choice.”
Netflix, Inc., an Internet television network, engages in the Internet delivery of TV shows and movies directly on TVs, computers, and mobile devices in the United States and internationally.
