On Monday, Shares of SeaDrill Limited (NYSE:SDRL), gained 1.77% to $8.04, as oil prices jumped more than 8 percent, extending their biggest price surge in 25 years.

U.S. crude oil futures jumped 8.8 percent, assisted by a downward revision of U.S. crude production data and OPEC’s readiness to talk with other producers.

Seadrill Limited, an offshore drilling contractor, provides offshore drilling services to the oil and gas industry worldwide. The company operates through Floaters and Jack-up Rigs segments.

Shares of Southern Company (NYSE:SO), declined -0.75% to $43.41, during its last trading session.

The Southern Company said Monday its partner Southern Power will acquire a controlling interest in a 200-megawatt solar plant in California from Recurrent Energy, a unit of Canadian Solar Inc. The solar plant, called Tranquility, will be the first partnership between the two companies. The plant is going up in Fresno County, central California, and its power is to be sold to Southern California Edison under a 15-year power purchase agreement. The Southern Company, together with its auxiliaries, operates as a public electric utility company. It is involved in the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity through coal, nuclear, oil and gas, and hydro resources in the states of Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Mississippi.

Finally, SAP SE (NYSE:SAP), ended its last trade with -0.30% loss, and closed at $67.26.
