On Monday, Shares of Union Pacific Corporation (NYSE:UNP), lost -1.30% to $77.29.

Union Pacific Railroad has earned the Military Friendly Employer® designation from Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs®, ranking sixth among the top 100. The company was selected based upon the strength of its military recruiting efforts, percentage of new hires with prior military service, veteran retention programs, and policies on National Guard and Reserve service.

So far this year, Union Pacific has hired nearly 1,000 military veterans, counting more than 50 disabled veterans. Veterans made up about 24 percent of all new hires in 2014. Overall, veterans comprise about 20 percent of Union Pacific’s workforce.

The railroad actively recruits veterans through its involvement with military transition offices, military education offices, reserve and National Guard units, career fairs, information sessions, employer panels, resume review assistance and by serving on local military committees and boards. Union Pacific also was recently recognized as a U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Lee Anderson Veteran and Military Spouse Employment Award finalist and named No. 2 on the Monster/Military.com and Monster.com’s 2015 Best Companies for Veterans List.

The alliance connects to both Viacom’s and What’s Up Moms’ highly engaged millennial mom audiences. The first video launches recently on Viacom’s TV Land and Nick at Nite, marking the first time What’s Up Moms will have linear distribution to augment its robust digital following.

The first What’s Up Moms/Viacom video features holiday “hacks,” counting creative ways to incorporate Hershey’s chocolate. A 30-second version will air on TV Land through December and comprises a call-to-action to watch the full two minute video at www.tvland.com/whatsupmoms. The full length holiday hacks video will live exclusively on www.tvland.com/whatsupmoms from December 7-9, after which it will also be seen on Whatsupmoms.com.

The partnership comprises at least two more original videos to air in the new year across various Viacom networks with yet-to-be-declared marketing partners. Viacom is the first and only media company What’s Up Moms has partnered with.
