The refresh of Staples.com features faster performance, a new interface designed for easier navigation and expanded personalization. As part of this digital renewal, an improved adaptive design provides the best of both worlds with speed and adaptability to any type of device. Staples.com is particularly optimized for tablets, allowing for full integration with storefronts optimized for mobile commerce, so the customer can start and finish shopping wherever and whenever is convenient for them.
“The new Staples.com will now change the way you browse,” said Faisal Masud, executive vice president of global e-commerce for Staples. “Pages have been de-cluttered of elements that were distracting to the user before. You’ll now see a focus on the features and information that customers care about the most, like reviews, product images and delivery estimates.”

The one millionth TorqueFlite 845RE eight-speed automatic transmission produced at the FCA US LLC Kokomo Transmission Plant (Ind.) rolled off the assembly line recently. The occasion was marked with a celebratory town hall to recognize the nearly 3,000 hourly employees whose commitment made the milestone possible.
Powering six vehicles – the Jeep® Grand Cherokee, Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Durango, and Ram 1500 - the advanced technology transmission is projected to save vehicle owners more than 700 million gallons of fuel, and reduce combined CO2 emissions by more than six million metric tonnes.
In total, FCA US, formerly Chrysler Group, has invested nearly $860 million to launch and expand production of the eight-speed transmission at Kokomo Transmission since 2010:
- June 2010: declared $300 million investment to produce a new, fuel-efficient eight-speed automatic transmission
- December 2010: confirmed an additional investment of $85 million
- February 2013: invested $212 million in its transmissions operations to produce eight- and nine-speeds
- December 2014: declared a $216 million investment to enhance capacity of the TorqueFlite 845RE eight-speed.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V., an automotive group, designs, engineers, manufactures, distributes, and sells vehicles and components. It offers passenger cars, light trucks, and light commercial vehicles under the Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Jeep, Lancia, and Ram brand names, in addition to after-sales services and parts under the Mopar brand name.
Finally, Synchrony Financial (NYSE:SYF), ended its last trade with 2.78% gain, and closed at $35.08, hitting its highest level.
Synchrony Financial, declared second quarter 2015 net earnings of $541 million, or $0.65 per diluted share. Highlights for the quarter comprised of:
- Total platform revenue raised 9% from the second quarter of 2014 to $2.7 billion
- Loan receivables grew $7 billion, or 12%, from the second quarter of 2014 to $61 billion
- Purchase volume raised 11% from the second quarter of 2014
- Declared new partners—Mattress Firm, Newegg, and Stash Hotel Rewards
- Extended Chevron, a top 20 partnership, and renewed a planned CareCredit endorsement with American Society of Plastic Surgeons
- Will be one of the first issuers to offer private label credit cards in Apple Pay
- Strong deposit growth continued, up $7 billion, or 24%, over the second quarter of 2014
- Continued progress on separation—Federal Reserve application to separate filed April 30th.
