Afternoon Trade News Analysis on: J. C. Penney Company, (NYSE:JCP), GoPro, (NASDAQ:GPRO), Royal Bank of Canada, (NYSE:RY)

On Monday, in the course of current trade, Shares of J. C. Penney Company, Inc. (NYSE:JCP), gained 2.98%, and is now trading at $8.47.

In accordance with the New York Stock Exchange rules regarding equity inducement awards, J. C. Penney Company, declared that on June 11, 2015, an equity inducement award of 78,358 stock options and 31,437 restricted stock units (RSUs) was granted to Andrew Drexler, the Company`s Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Controller, in connection with the commencement of his employment. The Company formerly revealed this award in connection with the declaration of Mr. Drexler`s appointment in May.

The options and RSUs will vest in thirds on the first, second and third anniversaries, respectively, of the grant date, offered Mr. Drexler remains continuously employed with the Company through those dates.

J. C. Penney Company, Inc., through its partner, J. C. Penney Corporation, Inc., sells merchandise through department stores in the United States. The company sells family apparel and footwear, accessories, fine and fashion jewelry, beauty products, and home furnishings, in addition to provides various services, counting styling salon, optical, portrait photography, and custom decorating.

During an Afternoon trade, Shares of GoPro, Inc. (NASDAQ:GPRO), gained 0.44%, and is now trading at $57.70.

Surfline/Wavetrak Inc. and GoPro declared the return of the GoPro of the World Powered By Surfline contest. The digital contest is an opportunity for surfers to capture the thrill of surfing from a variety of unique perspectives, bringing viewers together with them onto the wave. Surfline and GoPro will award $20,000 to the surfer who captures the single best GoPro video clip between June 1st and October 31st, 2015 anywhere on Planet Earth. A new addition this season is the Best Drone category, which awards the best drone clip with a prize pack from 3DR Solo.

The GoPro of the World judging panel features Cyrus Sutton, Pete Hodgson and Mike Prickett. For both awards, the judging criteria will comprise of 25% cinematography and composition, 25% perspective and degree of difficulty of shooting, 25% beauty, lighting and wave quality, and 25% performance and style.

The contest format comprises of 10 monthly finalists chosen by the judges. The selected clips are featured on Surfline and then go to a user vote — the winning three clips receive GoPro cameras and a Surfline Premium memberships. The overall favorite clip takes home $1,000 cash, courtesy of GoPro.

RBC Capital Markets, the corporate and investment banking division of the Royal Bank of Canada (RY on TSX and NYSE), declared that it has raised more than $1million to benefit Youth INC.

The funds were raised on June 11, 2015, as part of the first-ever RBC Trade for the Kids trading day, when the firm donated 100 percent of the net proceeds raised by its U.S. Equity desk to Youth INC to benefit their network of 57 grassroots charities that serve over 150,000 children in New York City.

RBC is also partnering with Youth INC on the “RBC Race for the Kids” which will take place in downtown Manhattan on Saturday, October 17, 2015. This family event will involve a 5K race, a multi-event team challenge and kids’ entertainment. The relationship between RBC Capital Markets and Youth INC extends beyond fundraising: RBC employees are directly involved in supporting the grassroots charities in the Youth INC nonprofit network.
