Ubisoft has chosen to take us to the English lands in their latest game, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. However, this is not your typical Assassin’s Creed game that focuses on the royal family or takes place in a specific historical period like Syndicate. Instead, Valhalla tells the story of the Vikings and their presence in England during the ninth century. The Vikings, also known as the men of the North, the Scandinavians, or the Normans, raided the British Isles during this time, aiming to loot the land and establish settlements for their prosperity.
The protagonist of the game is Eivor, a Viking warrior from Norway, on a quest for revenge. The game allows players to make choices that shape Eivor’s story. Eivor’s journey will lead them to forge alliances and make enemies across the four Anglo-Saxon kingdoms: Wessex, Northumbria, East Anglia, and Mercia. They will also encounter an enigmatic group known as the Order.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla features a large open world with RPG mechanics, building upon the successful formula introduced in Assassin’s Creed Origins. With a remarkable 18 out of 20 rating, the game offers a 40-hour story, over 100 hours of content, a roguelite mode, and DLC, making it a worthwhile investment.

Scheduled for release on October 12, Mirage offers a return to the roots of the franchise on a smaller scale. It takes place before the events of Valhalla and features Basim Ibn Ishaq, a character discovered in Valhalla, as its hero. While playing both games is not necessary to understand their respective stories, it enhances the overall experience. We highly recommend exploring Basim’s story after finishing Valhalla on your own.
