WhatsApp

Several press reports have shown that FC Barcelona is looking to cut first team players’ salaries due to the economic crisis it is currently experiencing, which will force it to shed a number of its stars.

And according to what the Spanish newspaper Sport has revealed, Jordi Alba wants to extend his contract with Barça for next season, but the Catalan club believes that young left-back Alejandro Baldi is his priority, followed by Marcos Alonso.

It is worth noting that Marcos Alonso had previously extended his contract and agreed to a pay cut at the Camp Nou, while Alba’s contract expires at the end of the next 2023-2024 season.

Barcelona plans to get rid of the star team!

Therefore, the Catalan club will try to get rid of Jordi Alba in order to reduce the team’s salary and provide an opportunity to sign new players in the summer.

Jordi Alba has made 451 appearances for the Blaugrana in all competitions, scoring 26 goals and providing 99 assists.
