Opportunities New Brunswick, GE Canada and GE Ventures Licensing have declared a partnership to provide New Brunswick entrepreneurs access to GE intellectual property that will assist them bring new technology, products and services to market.
Stephen Lund , president and CEO of Opportunities NB, and Ross Hornby , vice-president of government affairs and policy at GE Canada, made the declarement at the joint GE and Opportunities NB 2015 Small Business Day event held at Planet Hatch in Fredericton .
The Small Business Day event comprised negotiations about innovation in New Brunswick , in addition to opportunities for New Brunswick companies to pitch how they might license and commercialize GE technology to serve the needs of their customers.
“We are excited about the prospect of collaborating with GE and the top emerging technology companies in New Brunswick ,” said Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries Minister Rick Doucet , who is also minister responsible for Opportunities NB. “This partnership is a great opportunity for New Brunswick entrepreneurs to connect with GE technology. This partnership will also contribute to the development of a culture of innovation in the New Brunswick business community.”

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and CNH Industrial, Official Global Partners of Expo Milano 2015, have come together at Expo recently to present their youth educational programs to the public. The programs TechPro2, Agri Training, First Robotics and Comau Academy are all designed to provide young people with trade skills and knowledge to prepare them for future careers in the automotive and industrial machinery sectors.
Professors, students and FCA and CNH Industrial representatives are on hand to explain the particulars of the different programs and in some cases show the public exactly what they are all about. For instance, a live demonstration of the TechPro2 program will see a group of young students hard at work assembling and disassembling part of an engine from CNH Industrial’s Powertrain brand FPT Industrial.

Those who take partd will be asked to take a selfie with the New Holland Agriculture (an agricultural machinery brand of CNH Industrial) methane tractor on the roof of New Holland’s Sustainable Farm Pavilion and a Fiat 500e and a Fiat 500L under the shadow of a big daisy.
