Hot Stocks Watch: BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY), Basic Energy Services, Inc (NYSE:BAS), United Technologies Corporation (NYSE:UTX)

On Friday, Shares of BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY), lost -0.14% to $7.37.

BlackBerry, will be reporting results for the second quarter of fiscal 2016 on September 25, 2015. A conference call and live webcast will be held starting at 8 am ET.

BlackBerry Limited provides wireless communications solutions worldwide. The company offers BlackBerry wireless solutions, which comprise the sale of BlackBerry handheld devices; and the provision of data communication, and compression and security infrastructure services enabling BlackBerry handheld wireless devices to send and receive wireless messages and data.It also provides BlackBerry 10 smartphones; BlackBerry Enterprise Service (BES) 10 and BES 12, which are enterprise mobility administration solutions; QNX software for embedded markets; cloud-based BlackBerry Internet of Things platform; and BBM, an instant mobile to mobile private messaging service.

Shares of Basic Energy Services, Inc (NYSE:BAS), declined -13.03% to $4.11, during its last trading session.

Basic Energy Services, Inc, stated selected operating data for the month of August 2015. Basic’s well servicing rig count remained unchanged at 421. Well servicing rig hours for the month were 51,900 producing a rig utilization rate of 53%, contrast to 52% and 74% in July 2015 and August 2014, respectively.

During the month, Basic’s fluid service truck count raised by eight to 1,015. Fluid service truck hours for the month were 188,100 contrast to 193,200 and 215,100 in July 2015 and August 2014, respectively.

Drilling rig days for the month were 86 producing a rig utilization of 23%, contrast to 19% and 83% in July 2015 and August 2014, respectively.

Roe Patterson, Basic’s President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, “Given the volatility in oil prices during the month of August and the corresponding impact on our customers’ spending, we were happy to maintain utilization at relatively flat levels contrast to July for our production related services. However, to maintain these utilization levels, we did give additional rate concessions in all business segments. Activity levels for our completion related services were lower in August than July due to lower customer spending resulting from the drop in oil prices.

Basic Energy Services, Inc. provides well site services to oil and natural gas drilling and producing companies in the United States. Its Completion and Remedial Services segment offers pumping services, such as cementing, acidizing, fracturing, nitrogen, and pressure testing; rental and fishing tools; coiled tubing; snubbing services; thru-tubing; cased-hole wireline services; and underbalanced drilling in low pressure and fluid sensitive reservoirs. This segment operates 291 pumping units; and 66 air compressor packages, counting 36 snubbing units, 16 coiled tubing units, and 10 wireline units.

Finally, United Technologies Corporation (NYSE:UTX), ended its last trade with 1.02% gain, and closed at $92.33.

United Technologies Corporation, declared a new organizational structure to better serve customers by operating Otis Elevator and UTC Climate, Controls & Security as stand-alone businesses. Philippe Delpech will become President of Otis, and Robert J. McDonough will become President of CCS, which comprises such brands as Carrier, Transicold, Kidde, Chubb and Edwards.

These appointments are effective right away and both executives report directly to UTC President and Chief Executive Officer Gregory Hayes.

“As the world’s largest supplier of commercial building systems, UTC has tremendous growth opportunities driven by global urbanization and an expanding middle class,” Hayes said. “By creating clear lines of authority and accountability, this new organizational structure better positions Otis and CCS to capitalize on these opportunities with our innovative, energy-efficient products.

“As we refocus on the growth platforms of our business, this further evolution of our commercial organization will sharpen our focus on the distinct needs of Otis, CCS and our iconic brands, while retaining the revenue and cost synergies achieved through UTC Building & Industrial Systems,” he added.

United Technologies Corporation provides technology products and services to building systems and aerospace industries worldwide. Its Otis segment designs, manufactures, sells, and installs passenger and freight elevators, escalators, and moving walkways; modernization products to upgrade elevators and escalators; and maintenance and repair services.
