EXACT Sciences Corporation, issued the following statement recently following the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) draft recommendation statement for colorectal cancer screening.

USPSTF comprised Cologuard in the draft guidelines as an alternative screening test, together with CT colonography. The draft guidelines recommend an “A” rating for colorectal cancer screening starting at age 50 and ongoing until age 75. Screening for individuals age 75 through 85 is graded a “C.” This approach represents a change from the 2008 recommendations, which assigned specific grades for different tests, counting an “I” rating for stool-based DNA.

Cologuard is a non-invasive, FDA-approved colorectal cancer screening test that is covered by Medicare. Cologuard specifically and sDNA generally are comprised in the American Cancer Society and the U.S. Multi-Society Task Force screening guidelines, which comprise the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterolgy and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Exact Sciences Corporation, a molecular diagnostics company, focuses on developing non-invasive colorectal cancer screening products. The company develops the Cologuard, a non-invasive stool-based DNA colorectal cancer screening test that is designed to detect pre-cancerous lesions or polyps, and each of the four stages of colorectal cancer.

Shares of National-Oilwell Varco, Inc. (NYSE:NOV), declined -0.57% to $40.46, during its last trading session. In the last trading session, the stock moved on high volume, trading at a volume of 7.95 M as compared to its average daily volume of 6.36 million shares.

The stock, as of recent close, has shown weekly upbeat performance of 7.49% which was maintained at 0.77% in 1-month period.

Credit Suisse maintains its rating on National Oilwell Varco, Inc. (NYSE:NOV). The global brokerage major lowers the current price target from $39 per share to $33 per share. Analysts at the Credit Suisse have a current rating of Underperform on the shares. The rating by the firm was issued on September 4, 2015.

National Oilwell Varco, Inc. designs, manufactures, and sells equipment and components used in oil and gas drilling, completion, and production; and provides oilfield services to the upstream oil and gas industry worldwide. The company’s Rig Systems segment offers land rigs; offshore drilling equipment packages; and drilling rig components.
