Momentum Stocks in Focus: Unum Group (NYSE:UNM), Praxair, Inc. (NYSE:PX), Ameren Corp (NYSE:AEE), Equity Residential (NYSE:EQR)

Unum Group, declared that Jack McGarry, executive vice president and chief financial officer, represented the company at the Keefe, Bruyette & Woods Insurance Conference, Sept. 9, 2015, in New York City.

Unum Group, together with its auxiliaries, provides group and individual disability insurance products in the United States and the United Kingdom. The company operates through three segments: Unum US, Unum UK, and Colonial Life.

During an Afternoon trade, Shares of Praxair, Inc. (NYSE:PX), raised 0.13%, and is now trading at $105.27.

Matthew J. White, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Praxair, addressed the Credit Suisse Basic Materials Conference in New York on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at 1:20 p.m. ET. White will discuss Praxair’s growth strategies and business outlook.

Praxair, Inc. produces, sells, and distributes atmospheric, process, and specialty gases, in addition to surface coatings in North America, Europe, South America, and Asia. The company offers atmospheric gases, such as oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and rare gases; and process gases comprising carbon dioxide, helium, hydrogen, electronic gases, specialty gases, and acetylene.

Shares of Ameren Corp (NYSE:AEE), climbed 1.02%, and is now trading at $40.78.

Ameren Transmission Company of Illinois, has received a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity from the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) authorizing construction of the Spoon River Transmission Project, counting approval of a final route for the transmission line. This transmission project, estimated to cost about $150 million, is directly aligned with Ameren’s aims of providing reliable, efficient and environmentally responsible energy.

The 345,000-volt transmission line, using single-shaft steel poles, will span 46 miles in Illinois between Galesburg and Peoria, with an in-service date anticipated in 2018. Line construction is predictable to commence in late 2016 and is estimated to support about 100 construction jobs.

Ameren Corporation operates as a public utility holding company in the United States. The company engages in the rate-regulated electric generation, transmission, and distribution; and rate-regulated natural gas transmission and distribution businesses. It primarily generates electricity through coal, solar, wind, nuclear power, natural gas, methane gas, hydroelectric power, and oil.

Finally, Equity Residential (NYSE:EQR), gained 0.76% Monday.

Equity Residential, declared that the company’s administration will make investor presentations at two industry conferences this week.

On Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 1:15 pm ET the company’s President and CEO David J. Neithercut will take part in a Q&A session at the BofA Merrill Lynch 2015 Global Real Estate Conference. On Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Noon ET, Mr. Neithercut will make a presentation at the Barclays Global Financial Services Conference.

Equity Residential, a real estate investment trust (REIT), engages in the acquisition, development, and administration of multifamily properties in the United States. As of December 31, 2007, it owned and invested in 579 properties in 24 states and the District of Columbia compriseing of 152,821 units.
