Silver Creek Capital Administration, declared the launch of a new joint venture with Plum Creek Timber Company (PCL), Twin Creeks Timber LLC, which enables institutions to directly invest in high quality timber assets.

Twin Creeks will provide institutional investors an opportunity to co-invest in timberlands presently managed by Plum Creek with the objective of growing the portfolio to about $1 billion in valuation over time through opportunistic, selective timberland acquisitions from third parties. The venture is intended to be a long-term timberland investment with an initial 15-year term. The initial portfolio, valued at $560 million, will comprise of 260,000 acres of Southern U.S. timberland located in five states sourced from Plum Creek.

Plum Creek Timber Company, Inc. is a publicly owned real estate investment trust (REIT). The trust owns and manages timberlands in the United States. Its products comprise lumber products, plywood, medium density fiberboard, and related by-products, such as wood chips.

Shares of Eastman Chemical Company (NYSE:EMN), declined 1.56% to $70.17, during its last trading session.

Eastman Chemical Company, was recognized by the American Chemical Society (ACS) with the Heroes of Chemistry award, an honor reserved by the ACS to celebrate innovative work in chemistry and chemical engineering that led to commercial products benefiting the world. Eastman received the award for the first time ever, and for one of the defining success stories in company history: Eastman Tritan(TM) copolyester.

The ACS bestowed the awards to Eastman and five other companies at the ACS National Meeting in Boston. At the end of Tuesday’s trade, Shares of BioDelivery Sciences International, Inc. (NASDAQ:BDSI), gained 1.31% to $6.96.
