Notable Stocks in Focus: Banco Bradesco SA sd(NYSE:BBD), Horizon Pharma (NASDAQ:HZNP), Denbury Resources (NYSE:DNR), Advanced Micro Devices, (NASDAQ:AMD)

On Tuesday, Shares of Banco Bradesco SA (ADR) (NYSE:BBD), gained 0.39% to $5.15, after Brazil’s central bank intervened in an attempt to prop up the real.

Brazil’s central bank sold 20,000 foreign-exchange swap contracts valued at $987.6 million recently and offered $2 billion in credit lines in an effort to support the real after it hit an all-time low last week, Bloomberg reports.

Following the intervention, the real’s volatility spiked to a four-year high of 28.25%, as its value fell as much as 1% before gaining 0.7% to 4.0789 per dollar at 1:24 p.m. in Sao Paulo, according to Bloomberg.

Shares of Horizon Pharma PLC (NASDAQ:HZNP), declined -6.64% to $16.81, during its last trading session.

Horizon Pharma declared that Glass Lewis & Co. (“Glass Lewis”), one of the nation’s leading proxy advisory services, issued a report supporting Horizon Pharma’s efforts to call for two related special meetings of Depomed, Inc. (“Depomed”) shareholders — one to remove all of the current Depomed directors and repeal a series of recent amendments to Depomed’s bylaws (the “Removal and Bylaw Amendments Special Meeting”) and a second to elect replacement directors (the “Election Special Meeting”).

Glass Lewis recommended that Depomed shareholders PROVIDE CONSENT FOR Horizon Pharma’s solicitation for the calling of the special meetings by submitting their WHITE and BLUE proxy cards to Horizon Pharma’s proxy solicitor, MacKenzie Partners, Inc. Glass Lewis is the second proxy advisory service to make that recommendation. On September 28, 2015, Horizon Pharma declared that Institutional Shareholder Services (“ISS”) had recommended that Depomed shareholders should provide such consent.

Horizon Pharma plc, formerly Vidara Therapeutics International Public Limited Company, is a specialty biopharmaceutical company focused on identifying, developing, acquiring or in-licensing and commercializing differentiated products that address unmet medical needs. The Company markets a portfolio of products in arthritis, inflammation and orphan diseases.

Shares of Denbury Resources Inc. (NYSE:DNR), inclined 2.85% to $2.53, during its last trading session.

Denbury Resources declared that its Board of Directors has decided to suspend the Company’s current $0.0625 per share quarterly cash dividend, starting with the fourth quarter of 2015. The Company will pay its formerly declared third quarter cash dividend on September 29, 2015.

By suspending the dividend, the Company will free up about $22 million of cash each quarter, or $88 million annually, which can be directed to other uses counting, among other things, debt reduction, improvements in capital spending, or repurchases of shares of the Company’s common stock. Separately, the Company’s Board of Directors has reinstated the ability for the Company to repurchase shares under its formerly authorized share repurchase program which was suspended in November of 2014. Under that program about $222 million remains authorized, with no set expiration date and no requirement that the authorized amount be used in whole or in part.

Denbury Resources Inc. is an independent oil and natural gas company. The Company’s operations are focused in two operating areas: the Gulf Coast and Rocky Mountain regions.

Finally, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD), ended its last trade with 0.60% gain, and closed at $1.67.
