Pre-Market News Review: Hewlett-Packard Company, (NYSE:HPQ), Midway Gold, (NYSEMKT:MDW), New Gold, (NYSEMKT:NGD)

On Tuesday, Shares of Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ), lost -0.19% to $31.65.

Aruba Networks, an HP company, (HPQ) declared that Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District (CFISD) of Houston, the third largest school district in Texas and the 23rd largest in the nation, is deploying a new Gigabit wireless infrastructure to support the district’s commitment to 21st century K-12 education. Using Aruba’s 802.11ac solution and ClearPass Policy Administration platform, CFISD plans to adopt a Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT) policy for its 113,000+ students and 14,000 staff and teachers.

As part of its vision to maximize students’ potential and prepare them to be global leaders, CFISD realized they needed to deploy the right technology across their school campuses and in their classrooms. The district is implementing a one-to-many device strategy and will allow students and staff to bring their own devices onto the school campuses.

“We expect to support nearly a half million devices,” said Frankie Jackson, Chief Technology Officer, CFISD. “To do this successfully, we need a reliable, high speed infrastructure that can scale, can deliver uninterrupted coverage across our schools and in the classrooms, and can authenticate and provide secure access for all of these devices.”

Shares of Midway Gold Corp. (NYSEMKT:MDW), inclined 30.26% to $0.10, during its last trading session.

Midway Gold, declared the results of its 2015 Annual General and Special Meeting of Shareholders held in Englewood, Colorado on June 11, 2015.

At the Meeting, the shareholders approved a resolution to set the number of directors of the Company’s board of directors at six, counting one Preferred Holder Director to be elected by the holders of the Company’s Series A Preferred Shares. Detailed results of the vote by ballot are as follows: 162,118,268 votes for and 4,107,959 votes against setting the number of the board of directors of the Company at six.

At the Meeting, the shareholders approved a resolution to ratify the appointment of KPMG LLP as the Company’s auditor for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2015 as follows: 166,468,558 votes for and 3,032,892 votes against ratification of KPMG LLP.

Midway Gold Corp. engages in the acquisition, exploration, and development of gold and silver mineral properties in North America. The company holds interest in the Pan and Gold Rock Projects located along the prolific Battle Mountain/Eureka gold trend; the Spring Valley property, which is located in the Spring Valley Mining District, Pershing County, Nevada.

Finally, New Gold, Inc. (NYSEMKT:NGD), ended its last trade with -3.50% loss, and closed at $3.03, hitting its lowest level, as Gold dropped 0.4 percent to hit $1,181.45 an ounce ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s two-day policy meeting, Reuters stated. The meeting will take place later recently and investors will be paying attention, waiting for clues as to when the US central bank will raise rates. The looming Greek crisis also did little to boost demand for gold assets.

Gold futures for August delivery were down $4.90 an ounce to settle at $1,180.90.

New Gold Inc., a gold mining company, engages in the acquisition, exploration, development, and operation of mineral properties. It primarily explores for gold, silver, and copper deposits.
