On Wednesday, U.S. stocks were varied after the close, since escalations in the Consumer Services, Telecommunications and Technology sectors guided shares higher while losses in the Oil & Gas, Health Care and Utilities sectors guided shares lower.

At the close in New York, the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.04%, while the S&P 500 index dropped down 0.42%, and the NASDAQ Composite index dropped down 0.23%.

The Information Technology Index added 1.39 percent, as BlackBerry Limited (BB.TO) gained 1.22 percent, Constellation Software (CSU.TO) gained 1.57 percent, and Descartes Systems Group Inc. (DSG.TO) slipped 0.68 percent. Sierra Wireless, Inc. (SW.TO) jumped 3.92 percent.
