Stocks Indicating Negative Trends Under Review: VMware, Inc (NYSE:VMW), Coronado Biosciences (NASDAQ:CNDO), Avon Products, (NYSE:AVP), Ocwen Financial (NYSE:OCN)

On Monday, VMware, Inc (NYSE:VMW)’s shares declined -0.94% to $84.27.

Yesterday, VMware, Inc (VMW), declared two new open source projects built to enable enterprise adoption of cloud-native applications — Project Lightwave, an identity and access administration project that will extend enterprise-scale and security to cloud-native applications; and Project Photon, a lightweight Linux operating system optimized for cloud-native applications.

Designed to assist enterprise developers securely build, deploy and manage cloud-native applications, these new open source projects will integrate into VMware’s unified platform for the hybrid cloud — creating a consistent environment across the private and public cloud to support cloud-native and traditional applications. By open sourcing these projects, VMware will work with a broad ecosystem of partners and the developer community to drive common standards, security and interoperability within the cloud-native application market — leading to improved technology and greater customer choice.

“Through these projects VMware will deliver on its promise of support for any application in the enterprise — counting cloud-native applications — by extending our unified platform with Project Lightwave and Project Photon,” said Kit Colbert, vice president and chief technology officer for Cloud-Native Applications, VMware, Inc. “Used together, these new open source projects will provide enterprises with the best of both worlds. Developers benefit from the portability and speed of containerized applications, while IT operations teams can maintain the security and performance required in recently’s business environment.”

On April 2, Coronado Biosciences Inc (CNDO), has formed a new partner company, DiaVax Biosciences, to develop novel immunotherapies for the prevention and treatment of cytomegalovirus (CMV), a common virus that affects people of all ages. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), while CMV is typically asymptomatic in healthy individuals, it can cause serious, often life-threatening disease in those with weakened or uneducated immune systems (counting developing fetuses exposed to the virus in utero).

The licensed immunotherapies were developed in the laboratory of Don J. Diamond, Ph.D., Chair of the Department of Experimental Therapeutics at City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, California. Dr. Diamond will chair the Scientific Advisory Board of DiaVax. Under the contract with City of Hope, DiaVax secured worldwide rights to two T-cell immunotherapeutic vaccines for controlling CMV in allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) and solid organ transplant (SOT) recipients. Known as Triplex and PepVax, the programs are predictable to enter Phase II clinical studies later this year and are supported by grants from the National Cancer Institute. In connection with the licensing of Triplex and PepVax, DiaVax further reached an option contract with City of Hope for exclusive worldwide rights to Pentamer, a universal immunotherapeutic vaccine being developed for the prevention of CMV transmission in utero. If DiaVax exercises its option, and successfully develops and commercializes PepVax, Triplex and Pentamer, City of Hope could receive in excess of $100MM in upfront, milestone and other payments.

Coronado Biosciences, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company, develops novel immunotherapy agents for the treatment of autoimmune diseases and cancer. Its principal pharmaceutical product candidates in clinical development comprise Trichuris suis ova or CNDO-201, a biologic comprising the microscopic eggs of the porcine whipworm for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, such as Cohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, or autism spectrum disorder; and CNDO-109, a biologic that activates the immune system’s natural killer cells to seek and destroy cancer cells for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia.

At the end of Monday’s trade, Avon Products, Inc (NYSE:AVP)‘s shares dipped -0.92% to $8.66.

On April 13, Avon Products, Inc (AVP), declared that it has decided to postpone to Fall 2015 its Investor Day that the Company was originally planned to host on May 13, 2015. The decision to postpone the meeting follows the recent appointment of James S. Scully as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer, to allow the Company adequate time to prepare for a more robust talk about at the meeting. Avon will provide an update on its turnaround progress when it reports first-quarter 2015 financial results on April 30, 2015.

Yesterday, Ocwen Financial Corp (OCN) , hosted its sixth Annual Housing Advocacy and Policy Forum on Thursday, April 16, 2015 in Washington D.C. Ocwen’s 2015 Forum brought together key stakeholders to share their insight and work together on important issues affecting recently’s housing industry. Attendees of the Forum comprised of senior officials from housing advocacy and policy groups, the mortgage industry, and federal government agencies.

Ocwen’s President and CEO, Ronald Faris, offered the group with an update on Ocwen and the steps the company continues to take to assist borrowers. Attendees at the Forum also heard from two of Ocwen’s newest Board Members, Phyllis Caldwell, who was a senior official at the U.S. Department of the Treasury overseeing the Department’s HAMP program, and Dr. DeForest Soaries, Jr., who served under President George W.
