4 Stocks Buzzers: MGM Resorts International (NYSE:MGM), MBIA Inc. (NYSE:MBI), Time Warner Cable Inc. (NYSE:TWC), ON Semiconductor Corp. (NASDAQ:ON)

On Thursday, in the course of current trade, Shares of MGM Resorts International (NYSE:MGM), gained 0.45%, and is now trading at $20.16.

MGM Resorts International stock price target was lowered by analysts at Goldman Sachs to $21 from $22.

This action follows the company’s release of mixed first quarter results in early May. The company stated revenue of $2.33 billion for the first quarter, or 33 cents per share, contrast to revenue of $2.6 billion, or 22 cents per share in the same quarter last year.

The hospitality company was predictable to earn 13 cents per share on revenue of $2.4 billion, according to analysts polled by Thomson Reuters.

“MGM China has been a tremendous investment for our company,” CEO Jim Murren said.

MGM Resorts International, through its auxiliaries, owns and/or operates casino resorts. It operates through two segments, Wholly Owned Domestic Resorts and MGM China. The company’s casino resorts offer gaming, hotel, convention, dining, entertainment, retail, and other resort amenities. Its casino operations comprise slots, table games, and race and sports book wagering.

During an Afternoon trade, Shares of MBIA Inc. (NYSE:MBI), dipped -0.77%, and is now trading at $8.99.

MBIA, declared the sale of an aggregate of 27,250,000 shares of the Company’s common stock by investment funds associated with Warburg Pincus LLC in a registered public offering. Warburg Pincus will receive all of the net proceeds from this offering. No shares are being sold by the Company or by any members of the administration team.

BTIG, LLC is acting as sole underwriter for the offering. BTIG, LLC proposes to offer the shares of common stock from time to time for sale in one or more transactions on the New York Stock Exchange, in the over-the-counter market, through negotiated transactions or otherwise at market prices prevailing at the time of sale, at prices related to prevailing market prices or at negotiated prices, subject to receipt and acceptance by it and subject to its right to reject any order in whole or in part.

Subject to the completion of this offering, the Company’s partner, National Public Finance Guarantee Corporation, will repurchase from BTIG 8,000,000 shares of its common stock that are the subject of this offering at a price per share equal to the price at which the underwriter will purchase such shares from Warburg Pincus in this offering.

After completion of the offering, Warburg Pincus will hold 18,372,877 shares of the Company’s common stock and will continue to have two nominees on the Company’s board of directors.

 

MBIA Inc. provides financial guarantee insurance services to public finance markets in the United States and internationally. The company operates through U.S. Public Finance Insurance, and International and Structured Finance Insurance segments.

Shares of Time Warner Cable Inc. (NYSE:TWC), during its Thursday’s current trading session gained 0.24%, and is now trading at $166.95, hitting its highest level, as the pay television service provider continues to engage in acquisition talks with France-based Altice SA (ATC), according to Reuters.

Negotiations between the two companies are still in their early stages and it is possible that no deal is reached, according to Reuters sources. Neither company has commented on the reports.

Altice CEO Patrick Drahi declared earlier recently that the company purchased a 70% stake in Suddenlink Communications, the country’s seventh largest cable company, for about $9 billion as part of the company’s plan to expand its presence in the U.S.

Time Warner Cable Inc., together with its auxiliaries, provides video, high-speed data, and voice services in the United States. It operates in three segments: Residential Services, Business Services, and Other Operations.

Finally, ON Semiconductor Corp. (NASDAQ:ON), lost -0.28% Thursday.
