On Friday, Shares of General Electric Company (NYSE:GE), lost -0.51% to $27.27.

GE Girls, a GE Lighting created and sponsored program designed to enhance girls’ interest and participation in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, concluded its yearlong program at Progressive Field Thursday morning. Participating sixth-grade students from 15 Northeast Ohio schools came together May 14, 2015, to celebrate their achievements, take part in the final hands-on activity with local female leaders and attend the Cleveland Indians afternoon baseball game.

GE Girls is designed to encourage school girls’ interest in STEM fields, collaborate with regional, leading business partners and engage students in ongoing STEM programs and events. Since its inception in 2010, more than 300 girls have take partd in the GE Girls program.

For nearly eight months throughout the 2014-2015 school year, 160 girls take partd in the GE Girls STEM program. Led by GE Volunteers who visited classrooms monthly, the students worked in teams learning special lessons in life sciences, electronics, chemistry, computer science, architecture and physics. Each lesson was essential to solving the fun, top-secret biofuels mystery.

Mr. Herring will engage in a fireside chat on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 6:20 a.m. PT / 9:20 a.m. ET.

Pandora Media, Inc. provides Internet radio services in the United States. The company allows listeners to create up to 100 personalized stations to access free music and comedy catalogs, in addition to offers Pandora One, a paid subscription service to listeners.

At the end of Friday’s trade, Shares of DIRECTV (NASDAQ:DTV), gained 0.48% to $91.46.

AT&T and DirecTV appear increasingly optimistic that their $48.5-billion marriage soon will win the blessing of federal regulators, according to Los Angeles Times.

On Friday, the two companies agreed to extend their merger agreement, which had been planned to expire Monday.

The merger agreement was signed May 18, 2014. At that time, the companies did not anticipate such a lengthy review by the Federal Communications Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice.

AT&T’s acquisition of DirecTV, based in El Segundo, would create the nation’s largest pay-TV company with more than 25 million customers in the U.S, Los Angeles Times Reports.

DIRECTV, a digital television entertainment company, engages in the direct-to-home (DTH) business in the United States and Latin America. It acquires, promotes, sells, and distributes digital entertainment programming primarily through satellite to residential and commercial subscribers.

Finally, Ingersoll-Rand Plc (NYSE:IR), ended its last trade with 1.04% gain, and closed at $70.91, hitting its highest level.

Michael W. Lamach, chairman and chief executive officer of Ingersoll-Rand, will talk about the company’s long-term strategy, starting at 2:00 p.m. ET, Tuesday, May 19, at the Electrical Products Group (EPG) Conference in Longboat Key, Fla.

Ingersoll-Rand plc, together with its auxiliaries, designs, manufactures, sells, and services a portfolio of industrial and commercial products. It operates through Climate and Industrial segments.
